A few days ago, OT Rinpoche opened one of his chests of treasures (or at least, he asked one of his monks to open it) and pulled out three precious images. Here’s a snap of the Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo statue that is said to look as he did in real life.

What is his significance?
Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo was one of the most respected and revered masters of the 19th century. Along with Jamgon Kongtrul Lodrö Tayé and Chokgyur Lingpa, he was responsible for reviving Tibetan Buddhism by collecting texts and dying lineages of teachings and practices and ensuring they all survived. Basically he spear-headed what is known as the Rimé (non-sectarian) movement. He was the first Khyentse, the second was Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö, and the third is Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche.
