The Upper Shrine Room

I was a little disappointed with the photo I posted in the ‘Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö’s Head’ piece, so last night I went up to the shrine room on the top floor of OT Rinpoche’s house and had another go. I’ve also included snaps of the Guru Rinpoche that is central to this shrine and the life-sized Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche who sits on the other side of the Guru Rinpoche statue to balance Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö.

  1. Incredible. Thank you for being so diligent.
I know it takes a lot of effort to post everyday from Bir.

  2. I haven’t start ‘work’ properly yet, so I have time. And currently where I’m staying has the only really good internet access in Bir. I also feel like writing/taking photographs. It’s a new experience, actually. Until now fingers on keyboard have equalled “chore”. Perhaps I’ve finally come to the end of the ‘writer’s block’ I seem to have been suffering for the past fifteen years. God knows. But certainly my inhibitions about spouting drivel seem to have subsided somewhat! I hope you’re well…

  3. Thank you Janine. Wow… must be so incredible to be in that shrine room…profoundly so. I hope that it isn’t too long before I can experience this. I was there when they were creating those statues – even then, they had an incredible, haunting presence. Love to you.
