Elbow Massage

This is another of Philip’s great snaps from 2007 or 8. Khyentse Rinpoche has a clenched fist, not because he’s about to punch OT Rnpoche, but because he was exerting a strong downward force on OT Rinpoche’s shoulders. That’s his version of ‘massage’. And as you can see, OT Rinpoche had no objections.

Yesterday I overheard Rinpoche saying that one of the greatest blessings any of us can experience is the blessing of boredom. The problem is we don’t know how to use it. Boredom, that is. Of course, this has nothing to do with elbow massages, but it’s food for thought, no?
